The Process: Building A Double Decker Patio Cover in Katy, TX

The Patio Cover Beginning:
Like many of our projects, we began with a blank canvas.
This family held a clear vision of transforming their space into one with expanded possibilities! Right from the start, they were set on creating a two-story patio cover. They envisioned two distinct entertainment zones. This was one of the initial concepts:
The initial phase involved clearing the area thoroughly to pave the way for concrete work. Our team began by meticulously removing the sod and an existing small slab that was part of the original structure. While it might seem minor, this step is critical in ensuring the best quality of the concrete floor.
Important Note: Before any work can begin, we ALWAYS make sure we contact 811 (the national call-before-you-dig phone number) to request that the approximate location of buried utilities be marked with paint or flags so that we don’t unintentionally dig into an underground utility line. All things considered, keeping this in mind, you can rest assured that you will not have any unexpected trouble.
Once the concrete had been poured and allowed to cure completely, our team proceeded to install three evenly spaced 8″x8″ pressure-treated pine columns as the primary support for the new structure. These columns, along with the joists, will form the new foundation for the second floor, where a Trex composite decking floor will be laid. As a result, you can see how this came together perfectly
